The Sushrutha Institute of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery, Elite Mission Hospital, Thrissur, held its 19th Annual Conference on Sunday, 11 October 2026, at Hotel Elite International, Thrissur. With the theme “The Art & Science of Aesthetic Excellence,” the conference focused on a broad range of topics in aesthetic surgery and non-surgical aesthetic care.
The scientific programme brought together facial aesthetics, breast surgery, body contouring, hair restoration and injectables in a single day. It reflected the range of knowledge involved in aesthetic practice, from surgical procedures to medical management and minimally invasive treatments.
Facial Aesthetics and Rejuvenation
The morning programme opened with blepharoplasty by Dr. Ajai K. S., followed by fat grafting by Dr. Sheeja Rajan T. M., otoplasty by Dr. Raghu Ram Menon and facelift by Dr. Vinu Roy.
Further presentations included dimple plasty by Dr. Sannia Salim, facial feminization by Dr. Madhu K. S. and updates in rhinoplasty by Dr. Jyoshid R. B. Together, these topics covered several areas of facial aesthetic surgery, including eyelid rejuvenation, volume restoration, ear correction and nasal surgery.
Breast Surgery and Body Contouring
Breast surgery featured presentations on breast reduction by Dr. Renji Issac James and breast augmentation by Dr. Prince H. P.
The body-contouring programme included gynecomastia by Dr. Manoj Sanap, abdominoplasty by Dr. Nihal Yusufand 360° liposuction by Dr. Guru Karna Vemula. These sessions formed a substantial part of the conference’s focus on aesthetic surgical practice.
Hair Restoration and Injectables
Dr. Jayanthy Ravindran presented separate sessions on the medical management of hair loss and the surgical management of hair loss, giving both approaches a place in the scientific programme.
Dr. Guru Karna Vemula also presented on Botox and fillers, extending the programme to non-surgical aesthetic treatments alongside the surgical topics.
Continuing Academic Exchange in Thrissur
The 19th Annual Conference formed part of the Sushrutha Institute’s continuing academic activities at Elite Mission Hospital, Thrissur. Its programme spanned established procedures and updates across multiple areas of aesthetic care.
