Cleft lip and Palate

One of the most common congenital anomalies, cleft lip and palate is due to abnormal development of the face. The child typically has a gap in the lip and the palate. It is frequently associated with changes in the nose. In addition to the cosmetic deformity, it can result in problems in feeding, speech, hearing and also altered growth of the facial skeleton. It is important to remember that although the child appears deformed, there is no mental retardation. With proper care and surgery the child will grow up and lead a normal life. We at Sushruta Institute provide surgical correction of such deformities free of cost.
