Some women have enlarged “labia” or the outer tissues of the vulva (vaginal area). It can be congenital (from birth), or arise after pregnancy and childbirth. Women with this condition can have irritation, chafing, and difficulty riding a bicycle or cosmetic disfigurement. This can be corrected surgically. Sutures dissolve without having to be removed and the symptoms typically go away with improved appearance about the area. Management of genital problems is done in a sensitive and discreet manner, keeping in mind the unique challenges faced by each individual. Such procedures go a long way in improving the patient’s self esteem.
